FAQ
Q: Why can’t I see WPS Designer in the menu?
A: The module may be disabled in System settings, or your profile lacks
Show (s) right.
Q: What is the difference between Clone and Use for
project?
A: Clone creates an independent draft copy. Use
for project specifically copies an approved master
template to a target project and tracks the master as
source.
Q: Can I edit an approved WPS?
A: No. Create a Revision instead; the old revision
becomes Superseded.
Q: Who can delete a WPS?
A: Users with Delete (d) right, and only while status
is Draft.
Q: How do I add a new welding process to the
dropdown?
A: Source Data → Weld Processes → Add. Requires
appropriate admin access.
Q: What happens when I change data after someone
signed?
A: Signatures are invalidated; signatories must sign again.
Q: Where is the official signed PDF?
A: View PDF on the list (approved rows) or PDF Export
in Actions. Regenerate if needed after re-signing.
Q: Can one WPS belong to multiple projects?
A: Each WPS record belongs to one project. Use Use for
project to create per-project copies from a master.
Q: What are compatibility rules?
A: Business rules that hide or warn about invalid combinations
(e.g. process vs. material) in the editor.
Q: How do I save a WPS as a reusable template?
A: Actions → Save as Template from the editor (requires
Edit right).
